Cipe Pineles
Maria Rumore
Cipe Pineles is an Austrian-born graphic designer that paved the way by being the first female art director at a major magazine during the twentieth century and flourishing with her glorious editorial spreads at Glamour, Seventeen, Charm, Vogue, and Vanity Fair
Concept and Design
The focus was to produce a website that united Cipe Pineles’ timeless, charming, and dynamic style into a worthy depiction honoring her legacy. The concept indicates an elevated depiction of one of Pineles’ illustrious sketchbooks with asymmetrical line arrangements composed across each page that draw the eye throughout the composition. The circular cluster of dots paired with the lines serves as a nod to the tittle in Cipe Pineles and balances her overall aesthetic of combining a visual narrative that is witty, elegant and lively. The typography paired with color selections indicates her sophisticated and timeless approach to design that is consistent throughout the website.
